We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Procurement Manager with hands on experience on import operations. In this role, the candidate should be managing the end-to-end international procurement lifecyclefrom global vendor sourcing and cost negotiation to freight forwarding, customs clearance, and inventory alignment. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of international trade regulations, incoterms, and cross-border logistics to ensure a seamless, cost-effective flow of imported goods.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Identify and Evaluate: Source reliable international suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors aligned with company quality and pricing standards.
  
• Negotiation: Assist in negotiating competitive pricing, payment terms (e.g., Letters of Credit, T/T), and favorable delivery schedules with global partners.
  
• Performance Tracking: Monitor supplier performance (KPIs) regarding lead times, quality compliance, and on-time delivery.
  

2. Import Operations & Logistics Management

• End-to-End Tracking: Coordinate closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to track shipments from origin to the final warehouse.
  
• Documentation Compliance: Ensure all import documentation—including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, Packing Lists, and import licenses—is accurate and compliant with local customs regulations.
  
• Customs Clearance & Duties: Oversee the customs clearance process, ensuring timely payment of duties, tariffs, and taxes to avoid demurrage or detention charges.
  

3. Cost Control & Financial Management

• Landed Cost Analysis: Calculate and analyze total landed costs for imported goods, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
  
• Invoice Reconciliation: Verify supplier invoices and logistics bills against purchase orders and contracts before finance approval.
  

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Inventory Planning

• Demand Forecasting: Work alongside the planning and inventory teams to align import schedules with production requirements and safety stock levels.
  
• Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate supply chain disruptions caused by geopolitical factors, shipping delays, or currency fluctuations.
  

Key Requirements

• Education: B.E./B. Tech or Diploma in EC, IC or Electrical Engineering
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in procurement and supply chain, with a specific, hands-on focus on import operations.
• Technical Knowledge:
  In-depth knowledge of Electronics and Electrical components, basic electronics concepts clarity, Incoterms 2020, international shipping methods (FCL/LCL, Air, Sea), and custom regulations.
  Familiarity with import/export documentation and banking instruments (Letters of Credit).
  Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
