Job summary

HFCL in Hyderabad seeks an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to support the Engineering & Utilities team. The role covers design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of HVAC systems for manufacturing areas, clean rooms, and critical production environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial HVAC, energy-efficient operations, preventive maintenance, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 59 years of experience in HVAC engineering within manufacturing industries.
  • Experience in Optical Fiber, Electronics, Semiconductor, Telecom, Pharma, Clean Room, or Process Manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC system design, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of psychrometrics, chilled water systems, ventilation, clean room HVAC, and air balancing.
  • Familiarity with HVAC standards, ASHRAE guidelines, IS codes, and energy conservation practices.
  • Experience with BMS (Building Management System) and HVAC automation desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and HVAC layouts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, VRF systems, ventilation, and ducting.
  • Ensure uninterrupted HVAC operations for optical fiber manufacturing, clean rooms, production areas, utility buildings, and offices.
  • Monitor and maintain environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and air quality as per manufacturing requirements.
  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for HVAC equipment.
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, testing, and validation of new HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Support utility management including chilled water systems, compressed air interfaces, exhaust systems, and ventilation.
  • Monitor HVAC energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
  • Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, consultants, and internal stakeholders for maintenance and project execution.
  • Prepare maintenance schedules, SOPs, checklists, technical reports, and equipment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, GMP where applicable, and company safety policies.
  • Participate in CAPEX projects, plant expansion activities, and utility upgrades.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of critical HVAC spare parts and consumables.
  • Support audits related to ISO, safety, environment, and customer requirements.
