Job summary

Sify Infinit Spaces Limited is seeking an HVAC Engineer for Mumbai to maintain and operate air-cooled chillers, CRAHs, pumps, and DX-based systems in a data center environment. The role focuses on reliable performance, energy efficiency, and adherence to safety and SOPs.

You will lead a team of technicians, monitor PUE, perform heat load calculations, and coordinate with OEMs for service delivery, ensuring SLA compliance and quality workmanship across shifts.

Responsibilities

Sify Infinit Spaces Limited was created as a subsidiary to house all investments into the Data Center space, specifically colocation. As on date, Sify has 12 Data Center locations spread across India and offers approximately 200MW of IT power to the market with 2 more to be ready by the end of the year. The latest iteration of our Data Centers is AI ready, liquid cooled certified for GPX ready workloads. Apart from these, Sify has also built Data Centers for multiple state governments to house and expand their digital ambitions.

About the Role

HVAC Engineer

Role Objective

• Responsible for Operation, Maintenance and repair of Air-cooled Chillers and its associated CRAHs, chilled water distribution, Water Pumps, DX based PAC machines and Treated Fresh Air units, etc
• Operate the HVAC equipments with best efficiency.
• Inspecting the HVAC system performance and condition monitoring for smooth operation of the system.
• Conducting heat load calculation, CFM measurement, Air-Balancing as an when required.
• Identify and implement the energy saving potential ideas to maintain the Optimum PUE of the Data centre Facility.
• Attending customer meeting and handling Customer queries to fulfil the customer demands to achieve the best customer satisfaction.
• Ensure the customer Service Level Agreements particularly the temperature and RH level in the server hall are managed and maintained within the acceptable level.
• Resolve the HVAC system problems within minimum possible duration.
• Involvement in the preparation of the service level agreement to get the prompt service from the OEM.
• Maintaining Critical spare of the HVAC equipment’s to handle emergency situations.
• Annual maintenance budget preparation and executing all utilising the allocated budget with a system approach to improve the system performance.
• To maintain the maximum uptime of the HVAC system without any loss of redundancy levels.
• Preparation of SOP/MOP/EOP in accordance with systems equipment requirement.
• Develop a preventive maintenance program and maintain the quality work for any repair activity.
• Monitor the preventive maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Responsibilities also include designing modifications to existing systems, if required.
• Handling retrofitting or repair jobs as required and review the job for its quality.
• Evaluate workload and schedule work in a way that best utilizes manpower and maximizes output.
• Ensure all process and procedures are followed as per the guidelines.
• Ensures that technicians have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.
• Evaluates staff to determine training requirements.
• Provides on-the-job training and support to employees. Oversees facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that assets are protected and controlled. Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
• Observes all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties
• Managing relationships with customers, vendors and all the stakeholder

SKILLS

• In depth knowledge of critical facilities such as Air-Cooled Chillers, Cooling towers, CRAH (Computer Air Handling Units) Chilled water management system.
