Job summary

Yotta Infrastructure in Navi Mumbai is seeking an experienced Data Centre HVAC engineer to review and oversee cooling systems, ensure compliance, and support construction and commissioning. You will lead technical oversight for chilled water plants, CRAC/CRAH, DLC/LIC, and related equipment, coordinating with designers and contractors, and developing SOPs and QA/QC processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 3-5 years of HVAC engineering experience, or Diploma with min 8 years in HVAC including 3 years in Data Centre facilities.
• Experience in hyperscale, colocation, enterprises Data Centre operations.
• Experience in design review, multidisciplinary coordination, construction support, and commissioning and 24X7 operations supports.

Responsibilities

• Review HVAC and cooling system designs, calculations, specifications, and deliverables prepared by design and OEMs team.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical oversight for Data Centre cooling systems, including chilled water plants, CRAC/CRAH/FCU etc., and DLC/LIC.
• Troubleshoot non-performing or faulty mechanical, HVAC, plumbing systems and equipment.
• Prepare SOPs, EOPs, and MOP for Data Centre Operations.
• Coordinate with design, contractors, OEMs, architects, electrical/controls teams to resolve interfaces.
• Support value engineering, design optimization, and technical decision-making to enhance performance.
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, FAT/SAT and IST; resolve site issues and deviations.
• Prepare SAT, IST scripts and review RCA follow-ups with vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Review HVAC and cooling system designs, calculations, specifications, and technical deliverables prepared by design and OEMs team.
• Ensure compliance ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical oversight for Data Centre cooling systems, including chilled water plants, air-cooled chillers, CRAH/CRAC/FCU/FWU/RDHX/Dehumidifiers/Pumps/PAHU, CDUs, Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), Liquid Immersion Cooling (LIC), pumps.
• Troubleshoots non-performing and/or faulty mechanical, HVAC, plumbing system and equipment.
• Responsible for preparing the SOPs, EOPs, and MOP for the Data Centre Operations.
• Coordinate with design, contractors, OEMs, architects, structural, electrical, controls, and project teams to resolve design interfaces and technical issues arises in the operations.
• Support value engineering, design optimization, and technical decision-making to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including resolution of site execution issues and technical deviations.
• Responsible for preparing the SAT, IST script etc.
• Review the RCA and follow up with vendor for the closure.
• Provide training for the operation team. Conducts supervision and hands-on training to junior peers (technicians, members entering critical space)
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs/RFPs, and engineering change requests to ensure alignment with approved design intent.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor assessments, and equipment selection.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices for Data Centre mechanical systems through QA/QC which should be co-ordinate with Project and third-party consultant for the closure of snags and QA/QC points.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with 3-5 years of experience in HVAC engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with min 8 years of experience in HVAC, including at least 3 years in Data Centre or other data centre facilities.
• Experience in hyperscale, colocation, enterprises Data Centre operations.
• Experience in design review, multidisciplinary coordination, construction support, and commissioning and 24X7 operations supports.

Technical Expertise

• Data Centre HVAC and cooling systems Chilled water and air-cooled chiller plants Precision cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC/FWU/PAHU) Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), Liquid Immersion Cooling (LIC), CDUs, RDHX, dehumidifiers, pumps, water treatment system.
• HVAC system review, hydraulic principles, redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N), and energy-efficient cooling solutions
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
