Job summary

ASCO Consultancy in Mumbai/Gurugram seeks an experienced HVAC Design professional for tendering, engineering and detailed design of HVAC systems on complex Data Centre projects.

You will lead design calculations, equipment sizing, ductwork and piping, coordinate with architectural, electrical and civil teams, and ensure compliance with ASHRAE/ISHRAE/NBC/SMACNA standards while delivering energy-efficient, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 Years of hands‑on HVAC Design/Engineering experience in Data Centre projects is mandatory.
• Candidates without relevant Data Centre HVAC experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC tender and detailed design activities for various projects.
• Perform and review heating/cooling load calculations based on building characteristics, occupancy, equipment heat load, climate and other design parameters.
• Design HVAC systems for Data Centres and other complex facilities, considering critical cooling and operational requirements.
• Carry out equipment sizing and selection for chillers, AHUs/FAHUs, FCUs, pumps, fans and other HVAC equipment.
• Design and review ductwork layouts and air distribution systems.
• Design and review chilled-water and refrigerant piping systems, including sizing and routing.
• Prepare/review HVAC design calculations, layouts, equipment schedules, specifications, BOQ inputs and technical documentation.
• Review HVAC/shop drawings and coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, PHE and Fire Fighting disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, SMACNA and relevant project standards.
• Optimize HVAC designs for energy efficiency, reliability, performance and cost effectiveness.
• Provide technical support during project execution and resolve design/engineering-related issues.
• Review technical submissions from vendors/consultants and provide necessary engineering inputs.
• Manage multiple projects/design deliverables and ensure quality and timely completion.

Required Technical Skills--

• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design and engineering.
• Strong expertise in HVAC heat-load calculations and system sizing.
• Hands‑on experience in Data Centre HVAC Design – minimum 2 years mandatory.
• Experience in HVAC turnkey/EPC projects covering design through execution.
• Knowledge of chiller‑based HVAC systems, AHUs, ventilation systems, ducting and chilled‑water piping.
• Knowledge of HVAC design standards including ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC and SMACNA.
• Proficiency in HAP and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of BIM/Revit will be preferred.
• Good command of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. The original JD specifically lists AutoCAD, BIM/​Revit, HAP and MS Office among the expected software capabilities
