Job summary

Jacobs Navi Mumbai is seeking a seasoned Section Manager – HVAC to lead a team of engineers and BIM modelers. You will ensure high‑quality HVAC layouts, oversee cost estimates and procurement support, and drive timely delivery across projects while coordinating with internal disciplines and the client.

The role requires extensive HVAC experience, including data center, pharma, FMCG, or industrial projects, and a BE in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of overall experience in HVAC engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in HVAC for data center / industrial / pharma / FMCG projects.
• Strong ability to review models and guide engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and guide a team of Revit modelers to meet LOD 100–350 across project phases.
• Review models and ensure QA/QC; extract HVAC layouts from 3D models.
• Prepare site works tenders and cost estimates for HVAC parts.
• Provide procurement support and technical clarifications during bids.
• Coordinate with Client, Projects, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Vendors.

Responsibilities

• Planning / guiding a team of Revit modelers in developing BIM model meeting LOD 100 to 350 requirements during various phases of the projects.
• Reviewing the model / ensuring quality control on the model / guiding the modelers in extracting layouts from the 3D model like HVAC equipment layout / ducting layouts.
• Preparation of site works tender.
• Preparation of cost estimation for the HVAC part of the project.
• Procurement assistance like providing technical clarifications, participating pre‑bid / post‑bid meeting / technical bid analysis / preparation or order specification Vendor drawing review.
• Providing clarification to request for information from site during construction.
• Visiting sites for residual engineering / resolving site queries.
• Coordination with various stakeholders like Client / various internal disciplines like projects / electrical / mechanical / architect / civil / vendors for effective engineering management.
• Ensuring HVAC engineering execution within the budget / on time / meeting the quality set for the project and to the satisfaction of all the stakeholders.
• Providing management information for the HVAC engineering part of the project.
• Providing information for & attending project review meeting / internal review meetings / management review meetings.
• Preparation of HVAC engineering effort estimation.
• Knowledge of HSD system.
• Timely completion of designs, requisitions, and engineering deliverables.
• Adherence to Dept./discipline working instructions and quality systems.
• Meet client expectations and maintain long‑term relationship with client; attend to client feedback and any complaints.
• Review technical requirements of client specifications and ensure that an agreement is reached based on design. Participate in discussions with the client, as necessary.
• Investigate, analyze and implement systems, and methods to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• These investigations include
• Computer aided design.
• Monitoring latest developments and latest techniques in his area of functioning.
• Assigning of experienced people to various projects based on the skill‑set requirement.
• Monitor their work and progress and ensure that they are following the project requirements and schedule.
• Ensure availability of resources based upon forecast planning.
• Help in recruitment process.
• Maintain contact with other disciplines/groups to ensure.
• Project Manager and/or Engineer are aware of problems of progress delays.
• Proper interchange of information.

• Interface is correctly defined.
• Ensure that site problems viz. technical queries and non‑conformity notices are dealt with effectively and expeditiously and ensure competent staff are available for site troubleshooting as necessary.
• Attend design engineering management review meetings.
• Furnish administrative and technical directives to discipline personnel.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical Engineer. Specialization in HVAC (added advantage).
• Minimum 18 years of experience, including at least 5 years in HVAC engineering for data center / industrial / pharma / FMCG projects.
