Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Vadodara seeks an HSE professional to coordinate with site teams, enforce the HSE Plan, and drive a proactive safety culture among contractors. You will lead the implementation of HSE initiatives and ensure continuous improvement of safety on site.

The role includes conducting training, toolbox talks, inductions, inspections, and incident investigations, while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Familiar with applicable HSE legislation and the project HSE plan requirements.
• Experience in maintaining an HSE inspection program and reporting findings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with supervisors to enforce the HSE Plan on site.
• Proactively promote HSE culture among contractor and subcontractor personnel.
• Prepare inputs to Project HSE Manager for submissions.
• Maintain inspection program; report findings and recommendations for corrective action.
• Investigate accidents and ensure timely reporting to Project HSE Manager.
• Coordinate with site management for first aid, rescue, and emergency responses.
• Ensure compliance with environment regulations through regular site inspections.
• Conduct training and toolbox talks; ensure safety inductions for workforce.

Job description

• Coordinating with supervisors in enforcing the HSE Plan.
• Take a proactive approach for implementation of the HSE culture within contractor and subcontractor personnel.
• Familiar with all applicable HSE legislation and regulations and the requirements of this plan.
• Prepare & provide HSE with inputs to Project HSE Manager for further submission.
• Maintaining an inspection program and report findings and recommendations to Project HSE Manager Resident Construction Manager and Subcontractor for prompt corrective action.
• Take appropriate corrective actions and prepare such reports for the Project HSE Manager .
• Investigate the accidents and ensure reports are submitted timely to Project HSE Manager .
• Coordinating site first aid, rescue and field emergency responses such as spillages, leakages and discharges of chemical, sewer and hazardous waste with OWNER and /or neighboring contractors
• Coordinating with site Managers, Supervisors and Foremen in respect of construction activities concerning HSE matters.
• Participate in HSE tour with site management.
• Administering, implementing, and maintaining HSE Plan.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable environment legislations and regulations through regular inspection of the construction site and the environment.
• Conducting training and awareness programs.
• Conduct Mass Toolbox and participated in toolbox talk.
• Ensure that the workforce has undergone necessary safety induction prior to start work.
• Encourage employees to participate in training and awareness programs.
• Inspect construction areas frequently to identify hazards, non-conformance and non-compliance.
• Identify environmental aspects/ impacts and control measures.
