Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an EHS professional to drive health, safety and environment governance on construction projects in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The role focuses on establishing and maintaining ISO 45001/14001/9001 aligned management systems, risk assessments, training and audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

The candidate will coordinate external audits, prepare emergency plans, and oversee work permit systems, health & welfare measures, and subcontractor EHS

Responsibilities

• Establish & monitor ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015 and ISO 9001 compliant EHS management system for construction projects.
• Conduct training on EHS topics for engineers & workers on site and in HR-organized EHS training programs.
• Carry out hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities and ensure method statements reflect findings.
• Prepare EHS Plan and Environment Management Plan.
• Coordinate external EHS audits & third-party inspections of equipment.
• Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plan and conduct emergency drills.
• Facilitate implementation of Work Permit System.
• Coordinate occupational health & welfare measures.
• Prepare conditions of contract on EHS for subcontractors.
• Stop work if unsafe practices are witnessed and promote action-oriented safety.
• Carry out monthly risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
• Provide EHS reports to project head and IC Head on current EHS performance.

Job description

• Establishing, monitoring, appraising & coordinating upgraded version of integrated health, safety & environment management system (Confirming to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015 and ISO 9001 standards) for construction projects, improvising procedure manual and internal audits based on above standards.
• Conducting training program on EHS topics for engineers & workers in site as well as in HR organized EHS training programs.
• Doing Hazard identification and risk assessment for the critical activities and ensuring method statements incorporates the findings.
• Preparing EHS Plan and Environment Management Plan
• Coordinating External EHS Audits & Third Party Inspections of Equipment's
• Preparing Emergency Preparedness Plan and Conducting Emergency Drills
• Facilitating Implementation of Work Permit System
• Coordinating for Occupational Health & Welfare measures.
• Preparing Condition of contract on EHS for Sub-contractors.
• Stop work if any unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a don’t walk by and commitment to Action attitude all the time.
• Carry out projects Risk Management Audit on monthly basic and system audit quarterly.
• Provide EHS report to project head and IC Head to inform them the current status of EHS performance.
