Job summary

Reliance Industries (RIL) seeks an HSE professional to create and sustain a productive safety culture and safe work environment on large-scale projects, focusing on preventing injuries, environmental harm and unsafe practices. You will lead training, develop HSE programs, supervise staff, conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs HSE activities on large-scale projects; duties may include the calculation and control of HSE budgets, staffing requirements and schedules; Safety Cases and support studies; Quantitative Risk Assessments; Process Hazard Analyses; Fire Protection and Environmental Impact Assessments
• Manages, trains and supervises HSE employees working in the HSE department
• Manages the application of HSE procedures as established by the Company
• Provides guidance to business lines, project management, and company organizations through interpretation of Company HSE practices
• Makes decisions independently on engineering/scientific problems and methods relating to HSE
• Provides input for HSE program preparation on projects by maintaining expert knowledge
• Develops and supervises the implementation of HSE programs, including project site-based programs, to all levels of project staff
• Runs gap analyses to address program gaps that may occur between Company practices, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
• Initiates, fosters and maintains HSE standards and goals through company
• Supervises the monitoring of HSE metrics in order to provide recommendations to HSE management
• Oversees the development of approaches to HSE-related issues including managing investigations of incidents and near-misses
• Oversees the collection, protection and data storage related to project incidents that may result in litigation
• Supervises the preparation of records that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements
• Other related duties/functions as assigned
