Job summary

LT-Larsen & Toubro in Chennai seeks an experienced HSE professional to implement and enforce safety policies, conduct inspections, and manage risk assessments. You will lead incident investigations, CAPA, trainings, toolbox talks, and emergency planning while ensuring ISO 45001/14001 compliance and environmental stewardship.

The role requires strong field presence, coordination with regulatory authorities, and a proactive approach to fostering a safe work culture across sites.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.
• Identify hazards and perform risk assessments (JSA).
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory safety standards.
• Monitor high-risk activities (height work, confined space, hot work).
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
• Prepare incident reports and root cause analysis.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct safety induction and training programs.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
• Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).
• Develop and implement emergency response plans (ERP).
• Conduct mock drills and evacuation exercises.
• Ensure availability and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE.
• Monitor environmental compliance (waste, pollution control).
• Promote safe work culture and employee participation.
• Coordinate with management and regulatory authorities.
