Job summary

ScopeHR Consultancy Services seeks an HR compliance professional in Chennai to manage labor law compliance and statutory deductions. The role covers payroll, EPF/ESI, gratuity, bonuses, and vendor compliance, with a focus on workplace safety and audits.

The candidate will coordinate with government bodies and ensure adherence to multiple Acts, providing policy updates and risk mitigation in HR operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR operations and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to labour laws such as Factories Act, Shops & Establishments Act, and Industrial Disputes Act.
• Process and monitor statutory deductions and contributions (PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, Gratuity).
• Maintain EPF & ESI compliance and handle employee queries on PF/ESI.
• Administer gratuity and bonus as per applicable Acts.
• Ensure salaries align with Minimum Wages and Equal Remuneration norms.
• Oversee Contract Labour compliance and vendor adherence to labour laws.
• Implement POSH compliance and conduct safety/welfare programs.
• Maintain registers and prepare for government audits/inspections.
• Coordinate with authorities (EPFO, ESIC, Labour Department) on legal matters.

Job description

1. 1. Labor Law Compliance Ensure adherence to all applicable labor laws, including the Factories Act, Shops and Establishments Act, and Industrial Disputes Act. Monitor changes in labor laws and update policies accordingly.
2. 2. Payroll & Statutory Deductions Ensure accurate processing of PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, and Gratuity. Timely deposit of statutory contributions and filing of returns.
3. 3. Employee Provident Fund (EPF) & ESI Compliance Register eligible employees under EPF & ESI schemes. Ensure correct PF & ESI deductions and timely remittances. Address employee queries and claims related to PF withdrawals, ESI benefits, and pension schemes.
4. 4. Gratuity & Bonus Administration Manage employee eligibility under the Payment of Gratuity Act. Ensure compliance with the Payment of Bonus Act and process payments accordingly.
5. 5. Minimum Wages & Equal Remuneration Compliance Ensure all employees receive salaries as per the Minimum Wages Act. Monitor compliance with the Equal Remuneration Act to avoid wage discrimination.
6. 6. Contract Labor & Vendor Compliance Ensure compliance with the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act. Verify third-party vendors for adherence to labor laws.
7. 7. Workplace Safety & Welfare Implement POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) compliance and conduct awareness programs. Ensure workplace safety as per the Occupational Safety, Health, and Working Conditions Code.
8. 8. Record Keeping & Audits Maintain statutory registers such as wage registers, muster rolls, and leave records. Handle labor inspections and audits by government authorities.
9. 9. Government Liaison & Legal Coordination Coordinate with government bodies like EPFO, ESIC, and the Labour Department. Assist in handling labor disputes and legal compliance cases
