Vrinda Global seeks a seasoned HR Compliance & Governance Leader to strengthen our labour law compliance, governance framework and regulatory readiness across locations. You will drive statutory filings, audits, vendor compliance, and implement Labour Code changes with a proactive risk mindset.

The role requires 12+ years of domain experience, deep knowledge of PF/ESIC/minimum wages, and hands-on payroll compliance, ethics and process automation.

Job description

Role Purpose

To lead and strengthen the organization's HR compliance and governance framework by ensuring adherence to labour laws, statutory regulations, ethical standards, and internal governance requirements across all locations. The role is responsible for driving compliance excellence, mitigating regulatory risks, managing audits and inspections, overseeing outsourced workforce compliance, and ensuring effective implementation of labour law changes, including the New Labour Codes.

Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory & Labour Law Compliance
  • Own end-to-end HR statutory compliance across all locations, ensuring timely filings, payments, renewals, returns, registers, notices, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, Maternity Benefit, Shops & Establishments, Contract Labour and other applicable legislation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, labour law amendments, notifications, court rulings and emerging compliance requirements and drive timely implementation.
  • Lead Labour Code implementation projects and ensure compliance readiness across business units and outsourced workforce.
2. HR Governance & Compliance Framework
  • Establish and maintain a robust HR compliance and governance framework with clear controls, ownership and accountability.
  • Develop compliance calendars, dashboards, risk registers and governance mechanisms to ensure ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Drive awareness and compliance culture across HR, business leaders, branch teams and vendors.
  • Ensure periodic review and updation of HR policies, SOPs and compliance documentation.
3. Payroll, Benefits & Employee Lifecycle Compliance
  • Provide oversight on payroll compliance and statutory deductions to ensure zero regulatory breaches.
  • Ensure compliance across employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, disciplinary actions, exits and full & final settlements.
  • Monitor compliance aspects related to minimum wages, contractor payouts, statutory benefits and employee records.
  • Support compliance under POSH, Apprentices Act and other workplace regulations.
4. Contractor, Outsourced Workforce & Vendor Compliance
  • Govern compliance of outsourced manpower, staffing partners and HR service vendors.
  • Ensure contractor adherence to wage regulations, statutory remittances, licences, manpower deployment norms and labour law requirements.
  • Conduct periodic compliance reviews and audits of vendors and drive closure of observations.
  • Ensure compliance risks associated with third-party workforce are proactively mitigated.
5. Branch Compliance & Regulatory Governance
  • Lead compliance audits across branches and operational locations.
  • Ensure timely updation of statutory notices, minimum wage revisions, licences and registrations.
  • Drive implementation and governance of digital compliance boards and record management systems.
  • Track compliance readiness across all locations and ensure closure of non-compliance observations within defined timelines.
6. Audits, Inspections & Regulatory Matters
  • Lead internal, external and regulatory audits pertaining to HR compliance.
  • Act as the central coordinator for inspections, notices, queries and audits from Labour Department, PF Authorities, ESIC Authorities and other regulatory bodies.
  • Partner with Legal and HR Leadership on labour law interpretation, litigation support, disciplinary matters and regulatory notices.
  • Ensure timely response and closure of audit observations, inspection findings and compliance gaps.
7. Ethics, Employee Relations & Risk Management
  • Provide governance oversight on employee disciplinary matters, non-confirmation cases, separations and high-risk employee relations matters.
  • Ensure ethics, governance and compliance-related cases are tracked and closed within defined timelines.
  • Drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from investigations, audits and compliance reviews.
  • Identify emerging compliance risks and recommend remediation measures.
8. Compliance Automation & Process Excellence
  • Drive automation and digitization of compliance processes and statutory record management.
  • Standardize HR compliance processes through SOPs, process documentation and system controls.
  • Partner with HR Technology, Payroll and Operations teams to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance monitoring.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance effectiveness and audit readiness.
9. HR Operations
  • Lead HR Operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring efficient, compliant, and employee-centric delivery of onboarding, employee data management, benefits administration, confirmations, transfers etc.
  • Drive operational excellence through process standardization, automation, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance employee experience and service quality.
  • Establish governance mechanisms and performance metrics to ensure accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of HR operational processes including vendor management and payments.
Requirement
  • 12+ years of experience in HR Compliance, Labour Law Compliance, Employee Relations, HR Operations or Governance.
  • Strong expertise in Indian labour laws, social security legislations and employment regulations.
  • Hands-on experience in handling PF, ESIC, Minimum Wages, Contract Labour, Shops & Establishments, Gratuity, Bonus and Compliance Audits.
  • Experience in Labour Code implementation and regulatory change management.
  • Proven experience managing labour inspections, statutory notices, government authorities and legal compliance matters.
  • Strong risk management, governance, analytical and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience in managing outsourced workforce compliance and vendor governance.
  • Ability to drive compliance automation, controls and process excellence initiatives.
  • Proficient in HRMS, payroll systems, compliance tools and advanced MS Excel.
  • MBA HR / Labour Laws / Personnel Management / Law preferred.
