Job summary

Capgemini in Chennai, India is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to handle timely and accurate processing of employee payroll data according to project deadlines. You will work with US payroll cycles and collaborate with clients across time zones.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, responding to client queries, clarifying HR policies, managing parts of the process, and organizing knowledge sharing sessions within the team. Night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing payroll activities (1–5 years).
• Knowledge of US payroll processing and time & labor rules.
• Proficient in Excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP) and MS Office.
• Familiarity with payroll software like Workday/Oracle HCM/Taleo/SuccessFactors.

Your Role

We are seeking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of employee payroll data according to the project deadlines.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• US Payroll Processing - Weekly/Bi-Weekly/Monthly and Off-Cycle Payroll Processing. New Hire, Termination, Transfer and Overpayments, Retro Processing, Good Knowledge of Time and labor and Overtime Rules
• Respond to clients queries accurately (via phone, live chat, email and case management system)
• Provide clarification of HR policies and procedures
• Manage assigned part of the process according to Capgemini methodology and/or agreed transition plan
• Organize knowledge sharing sessions both within the team and cross teams

Your Profile

• Experience of 1 to 5 years in managing Payroll activities.
• System data entry experience (Workday, Oracle HCM, Taleo, SuccessFactors, etc.)
• Experience of maintaining data in excel, Pivot, V Look up
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
• Handle complex problems raised by client and provide solution
• Handle the client communication and client Reporting
• Excellent job organization and time management skills
• Attention to details and very good analytical skills;
• Good communication skills
• Interaction with Client daily via phone, chat and email, work on resolving HR related issues, cooperate with other delivery team members
• Flexible working in night shifts
