Job summary

Comaea Consulting seeks an accomplished HR Manager to lead HR operations in Mumbai, India. Reporting to senior management and coordinating with the international HR function, you will oversee recruitment, payroll, benefits and employee administration while aligning India HR with global people strategies.

You will drive compliance with Indian labour laws, support talent development and organisation-wide initiatives, and partner with senior leaders to shape the HR roadmap for the Indian entity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
• 10+ years of broad HR experience in international or commercial environments.
• Strong knowledge of Indian employment laws and payroll processes.
• Confident working with senior management and employees at all levels.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Our client is a leading international organisation in the shipping and maritime industry. As part of its continued growth in India, the company is looking to appoint an experienced HR professional to lead its HR operations and support the organisation's people strategy.

THE ROLE

Reporting to senior management in India and working closely with the international HR function, the HR Manager will oversee HR operations and administration while supporting key people and organisational initiatives across India.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead HR operations including recruitment, manpower planning, payroll, compensation & benefits and employee administration.
• Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws and company HR policies and procedures.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of broad HR experience, preferably in an international, commercial or operational environment.
• Strong experience in HR operations, payroll, compensation & benefits and Indian employment legislation.
• Confident working with senior management and employees at all levels.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English.
• Hands‑on, process‑oriented and proactive approach.
• Experience in shipping, maritime, logistics or a related industry would be an advantage.
