Job summary

G Square Housing seeks an HR Manager to act as a strategic partner to business units in Mumbai, driving people initiatives and ensuring HR compliance. The role covers performance management, talent development, and end-to-end HR support across designated departments.

You will lead workforce planning, coaching, and employee relations, while supporting recruitment, onboarding, and HR compliance to enable business performance and a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Strategic HR partnership with business units to align people strategy with business goals.
• Support performance management processes, goal-setting, KPI/MIS alignment, and appraisals.
• Oversee HR operations: recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, exits, payroll coordination, and HRMS updates.
• Drive employee relations and engagement through regular interactions, feedback sessions, and campaigns.
• Identify training needs and coordinate with L&D for both functional and behavioral programs.
• Ensure HR compliance with policies, guidelines and statutory regulations; maintain records and audits.

Job Purpose

To act as a strategic partner to business units by driving people initiatives, ensuring HR compliance, supporting performance management, employee engagement, talent development, and resolving employee concerns. The HR Manager enables business performance through effective workforce planning, coaching, and end-to-end HR support across designated departments or zones

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Partnership

• Partner with functional heads, zonal leaders, and department managers to understand business goals and workforce requirements.
• Provide HR insights to support organizational growth, productivity, and culture development.
• Support manpower planning, hiring strategies, and deployment across functions.
• Ensure optimum staffing and timely resource availability.

2. Performance Management & Productivity

• Support goal-setting, KPI/MIS alignment, appraisal processes, and performance reviews.
• Monitor employee performance and support performance improvement plans (PIPs).
• Assist managers in identifying performance gaps and building development plans.
• Coach employees on behavior, productivity, and adherence to company standards.

3. HR Operations Support

• Support recruitment, onboarding, transfers, confirmation, promotions, and exit processes.
• Facilitate background verification (BGV), payroll coordination, and HRMS updates.
• Conduct exit interviews, analyse trends, and provide attrition insights.

4. Employee Relations & Engagement

• Conduct regular employee interactions, skip-level meetings, and feedback sessions.
• Address employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and grievances.
• Drive engagement activities such as R&R, cultural events, bonding initiatives, and HR campaigns.
• Gather and analyze employee feedback to recommend improvements.

5. Talent Management & Development

• Identify training needs and coordinate with L&D team for functional and behavioral programs.
• Ensure new joiners receive smooth onboarding and integration into the team.
• Support talent retention strategies and high-performer identification.
• Partner with management to enable succession planning for critical roles.

6. HR Compliance & Governance

• Ensure employee compliance with company policies, HR guidelines, and statutory regulations.
• Conduct orientation sessions on HR policies and workplace conduct.
• Maintain accurate and updated employee records, HR reports, and dashboards.
• Ensure timely closures of audits, legal documentation, and compliance tasks.
