Job summary

AURA Biotechnologies is seeking an experienced HR Manager/Generalist to lead recruitment, compliance and HR operations in a manufacturing/biotech setting. The role requires a strong grasp of Indian labor laws and payroll coordination, with a focus on building a high-performing workforce.

You will manage onboarding, performance processes and employee relations while shaping policies and SOPs to support business needs. Previous experience in biotech/manufacturing is a plus.

Qualifications

• UG/PG in Human Resources or allied field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HR Manager or HR Generalist roles.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
• Experience in recruitment, payroll coordination, employee relations, and HR operations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Experience in manufacturing/biotech/agrochemical or FMCG sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

• Manage end-to-end recruitment across functions, ensuring timely closure of positions.
• Develop sourcing strategies using modern ATS platforms and recruitment channels.
• Coordinate interviews, salary negotiations, onboarding, and induction programs.
• Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for future hiring needs.

Compliance & Labour Laws

• Ensure 100% compliance with Indian labour laws and statutory requirements, including:
  • Provident Fund (PF)
  • Employees' State Insurance (ESI)
  • Gratuity
  • Shops & Establishments Act
  • Other applicable labor regulations
• Liaise with statutory authorities and maintain all compliance records.

Employee Engagement

• Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, recognition activities, and team-building events.
• Foster a positive workplace culture that enhances employee satisfaction and retention.
• Conduct employee feedback surveys and implement improvement initiatives.

Performance Management

• Lead annual performance appraisal cycles and merit increment processes.
• Design and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Support managers in employee development and succession planning.

HR Policies & Administration

• Develop, review, and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, and SOPs.
• Ensure HR practices comply with current statutory requirements and business needs.
• Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit formalities.
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Educational Qualification: UG/PG in Human Resources (HR), Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Business Administration (HR), or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the same HR Manager or HR Generalist profile.
• Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
• Experience handling recruitment, payroll coordination, employee relations, and HR operations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, agrochemicals, or FMCG industries will be an added advantage.
