Job summary

Carol India is seeking an HR Head to lead the complete HR function, shaping policies, processes and systems aligned with business growth. You will own the employee lifecycle from planning to separation and drive talent acquisition across functions.

The role requires extensive experience in manufacturing/industrial environments, hands-on recruitment, payroll coordination and strong labour-law knowledge. You will build an HR team and foster a disciplined, high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • MBA / PGDM in HR / MSW / MA HR / equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.
  • 8–15 years of relevant HR experience, with leadership/senior HR role.
  • Experience handling complete HR function in manufacturing/industrial environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience in recruitment, manpower planning, performance management, employee engagement, HR policies and employee relations.
  • Good understanding of labour laws, statutory compliance, payroll processes and industrial relations.
  • Experience handling both corporate and shop-floor manpower is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to build and develop an HR team and work with senior management.
  • Experience in KRAs, KPIs, appraisal systems and incentive structures.
  • Strong understanding of HR MIS, attrition, absenteeism and productivity metrics.
  • Proactive, mature, discreet and capable of handling sensitive employee matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the complete Human Resources function and act as the key HR partner to management.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, systems and processes aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Handle the complete employee lifecycle including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance management, engagement, development and separation.
  • Lead talent acquisition and recruitment for corporate, sales, technical, manufacturing and other functions.
  • Prepare manpower plans and ensure timely recruitment of right talent.
  • Develop job descriptions, KRAs, KPIs and performance appraisal systems.
  • Establish and manage employee performance review, promotion, increment and incentive processes.
  • Develop systems for employee retention, engagement, motivation and career development.
  • Manage attendance, leave, payroll coordination, records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, PF, ESIC, PT, Bonus, Gratuity and related regulations.
  • Coordinate with consultants and authorities for labour-law compliance and inspections.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, handbook, code of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
  • Handle employee grievances and conflict resolution professionally.
  • Build a performance-driven, professional and positive work culture.
  • Identify training needs and implement training and leadership programmes.
  • Develop succession planning and talent development for key positions.
  • Monitor turnover, absenteeism and HR metrics with regular MIS and dashboards.
  • Maintain confidential employee data and HR records.
  • Collaborate with department heads on manpower requirements and organizational needs.
  • Establish effective management-employee communication channels.
  • Support management in structuring and cost-control initiatives.
  • Oversee welfare initiatives and workplace discipline.
  • Implement HR systems, HRMS/ERP and tech-driven processes.
  • Build a strong employer brand to attract talent.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the complete Human Resources function of the organisation and act as the key HR partner to the management.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, systems and processes aligned with the organisations business objectives and growth plans.
  • Handle the complete employee lifecycle, including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance management, employee engagement, development and separation.
  • Lead talent acquisition and recruitment for corporate, sales, technical, manufacturing, quality, accounts, administration and other functions.
  • Prepare manpower plans and ensure timely recruitment of the right talent as per business requirements.
  • Develop effective job descriptions, KRAs, KPIs and performance appraisal systems across departments.
  • Establish and manage employee performance review, promotion, increment and incentive processes.
  • Develop systems for employee retention, engagement, motivation and career development.
  • Manage employee attendance, leave, payroll coordination, employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, PF, ESIC, PT, Bonus, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments / Factory-related requirements and other applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with consultants and authorities for labour-law compliance, inspections and statutory matters.
  • Develop and maintain the organisation’s HR policies, employee handbook, code of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and conflict resolution professionally and fairly.
  • Build a strong performance-driven, professional and positive work culture within the organisation.
  • Identify training and development needs and implement appropriate training, skill development and leadership development programmes.
  • Develop succession planning and talent development initiatives for key positions.
  • Monitor employee turnover, absenteeism, manpower productivity and other HR metrics and provide regular HR MIS and dashboards to management.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee data, personnel files and HR records.
  • Work closely with department heads to understand manpower requirements, performance issues and organisational needs.
  • Establish effective communication channels between management and employees.
  • Support management in organisation structuring, manpower optimisation, cost control and productivity improvement.
  • Manage employee welfare initiatives, engagement activities and workplace discipline.
  • Ensure effective implementation of HR systems, HRMS/ERP and technology-driven HR processes.
  • Build and maintain a strong employer brand to attract quality talent.
  • Handle HR-related vendor, consultant, recruitment agency and training partner relationships.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee and organisational information.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • MBA / PGDM in HR / MSW / MA HR / equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.
  • 8–15 years of relevant HR experience, with substantial experience in an HR leadership / Head HR / Senior HR Manager role.
  • Experience in independently handling the complete HR function of a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, FMCG, chemical, automotive or similar organisation will be preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in recruitment, manpower planning, performance management, employee engagement, HR policies and employee relations.
  • Good understanding of labour laws, statutory compliance, payroll processes and industrial relations.
  • Experience in handling both corporate employees and factory / shop-floor manpower will be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to build, manage and develop an HR team and work closely with senior management and department heads.
  • Strong experience in developing KRAs, KPIs, appraisal systems, incentive structures and employee policies.
  • Should have excellent understanding of HR MIS, manpower cost, attrition, absenteeism and productivity metrics.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, HRMS/ERP systems and HR reporting tools.
  • Should be proactive, mature, approachable and capable of handling sensitive employee matters with discretion.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with a practical and business-oriented approach.
  • Should be comfortable working in a fast-growing, professionally managed manufacturing organisation and driving HR systems from the ground up.
