Job summary

DAR Engineering in Chennai seeks an experienced Lead / Senior Engineer Water to lead engineering activities for Water Treatment projects. You will drive technology selection, process design, equipment sizing and detailed engineering from concept to IFC.

The role requires 11 to 21 years in water/wastewater, strong knowledge of desalination, WTP, STP and ETP, and ability to coordinate across disciplines while providing technical leadership and client-facing support.

Qualifications

• Lead process and mechanical engineering for Desalination, WTP, STP, ETP, Pump Houses and Water Transmission projects from concept to detailed/IFC engineering.
• Perform process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing for treatment and pumping systems.
• Evaluate and select water/wastewater treatment technologies considering feed-water characteristics, performance requirements, CAPEX/OPEX and project specifications.
• Size and select major process and mechanical equipment including pumps, RO/UF/MF systems, clarifiers, filters, blowers, chemical dosing and sludge handling systems.
• Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, design basis, hydraulic profiles, equipment datasheets, specifications and engineering deliverables.
• Lead technical proposals and tender engineering, including technical compliance, engineering estimates, BOQs, equipment lists and technology evaluation.
• Review vendor offers, prepare technical bid evaluations, and coordinate with technology providers and equipment suppliers.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping and other disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible designs.
• Provide technical leadership, design review and mentoring to engineering teams while ensuring quality, schedule and applicable codes/standards.
• Interface with clients, consultants and vendors on technical matters and support project execution, construction and commissioning as required.

• Experience in technology selection, tendering and technical proposal preparation.
• Familiarity with relevant international standards, client specifications and water industry practices.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination, technical leadership and communication skills.
