Job summary

DAR Engineering in Chennai is seeking a Lead Engineer, Civil with 14-20 years of experience to lead design and project delivery within the Power Business Unit. You will oversee civil, architectural and structural aspects, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance for complex infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate holds a BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering, has strong design software skills, and can coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet schedule and budget targets.

Qualifications

• 14–20 years of experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering is required.
• Experience with LV/MV/HV substations and transmission line design preferred.
• Proficiency with design software such as SAP, STAAD Pro, GT Strudel, MS Excel, 3D platforms and document management systems.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

• Prepare Civil, Architectural, and Structural design meeting quality and schedule requirements.
• Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures.
• Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.

Job Description

Skills Required

• Good knowledge for the analysis and design of Structural design for LV/ MV/ HV/ EHV substations and transmission lines from base design, detail design to IFC stage for buildings, steel structures, equipment foundation and connection design.
• Knowledge of reviewing and guiding designers for the preparation of architectural, civil and structural drawings for building including Steel fabrication drawings.
• Good Knowledge of analysis and design of Infrastructure projects of solar plant, water pumping station and service utilities from concept design to IFC stage.
• Familiar with relevant codes & standards American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Building Code (IBC), American Society of Structure Engineers (ASCE), Regional standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), SEC standards etc.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software SAP, STAAD Pro, GT Strudel, MS Excel, drafting tools, 3D platform and document management systems.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials and local regulations.
• Client coordination, ability to work independently and as a part of team.
• Working knowledge in preparing specifications, basis of design, engineering alternative solutions, BOQs and Value engineering.
• Passionate about structural and Structure engineering.
• Have excellent technical skills.
• Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a good command over English.
