Responsibilities

• Review drawings, issue RFQs, negotiate pricing and track costs and timelines.
• Design and implement inspection regimes to verify parts before payments.
• Lead a small on-site team of 2-3 assistants handling inventory, logistics and inspection.

Job Posting: Vendor Development Manager (Mechanical / Manufacturing) We will consider candidates with any background, but with experience in procurement of metal items.

Position Summary

• Role: Vendor Development Manager
• Location: 9/2 Kalahare Industrial Area, Kachohalli, Bangalore, Karnataka (Near Peenya / Magadi Road)
• Experience: 5 to 10 years in vendor development, sourcing, or a similar capacity within metal parts manufacturing
• Age Preference: 30+ years old
• Residential Preference: Candidates residing in or around Peenya, Magadi Road, or nearby areas are highly preferred.

Core Responsibilities

• Vendor Sourcing & Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for custom manufacturing and standard market items.
• Component Sourcing Portfolio: Manage procurement predominantly for metal parts, including: CNC machined components Sheet metal (laser cut and folded parts) Welded, polished, and fabricated assemblies Cast and manually machined parts Standard market fasteners and hardware
• Costing & Estimation: Review technical drawings, send out RFQs (Request for Quotes), negotiate pricing, and follow up closely on costs and timelines.
• Quality Assurance: Design and implement an inspection regime to verify parts against technical drawings before approving vendor payments.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of 2-3 on-site assistants who support inventory, logistics, and basic inspection tasks.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. However, candidates without a technical background who possess solid, proven experience in a similar role will be strongly considered.
• Technical Skills: Must have the ability to read and accurately interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, command over cost-tracking, and effective team management abilities.
