Job summary

Cyient in Mysuru is seeking an experienced Mechanical Sourcing Manager with expertise in sourcing, vendor development, and cost management for machining, casting, stamping, and sheet metal components. The ideal candidate will have extensive exposure to aerospace/defence products, supplier management, and technical sourcing to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

The role requires 10–15 years of relevant experience and a diploma or BE in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of experience in Aerospace/Defence sourcing.
• Experience with Machining, Casting, Stamping, and Sheet Metal parts.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing activities for Machining, Casting, Stamping, and Sheet Metal components.
• Develop and qualify suppliers for Aerospace & Defence projects.
• Handle RFQs, supplier evaluation, techno-commercial discussions, and finalization.
• Analyze engineering drawings, manufacturing feasibility, and component costing.
• Drive vendor development and part development activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams during project execution.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with Aerospace quality requirements and ISO/AS standards.
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives through VA/VE and alternate sourcing methods.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time availability of parts for production.

  • Strong vendor development and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO / AS Standards and Aerospace quality systems.
  • Understanding of purchasing processes and supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 to15 years of relevant experience in Aerospace / Defence sourcing.
  • Experience in handling engineering components and development projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement documentation.
