Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, consumables, engineering items, MRO spares, tools, and capital equipment.
  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base through vendor identification, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
  • Negotiate prices, commercial terms, payment conditions, and delivery schedules to achieve costsavings.
  • Float RFQs, evaluate techno-commercial offers, prepare comparative statements, and finalize purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance departments for effective procurement planning.
  • Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, and service.
  • Identify alternate sources for critical materials and imported items to reduce procurement risk.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with suppliers to meet committed delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
  • Maintain procurement records, purchase documentation, contracts, and vendor databases.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, SOPs, and statutory requirements.
  • Lead and develop the purchase team while driving continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Job Summary The Purchase Manager will be responsible for planning, sourcing, and procuring raw materials, consumables, engineering items, MRO spares, and capital equipment required for uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The role requires strong technical understanding of engineering components, vendor management, cost optimization, inventory planning, and timely procurement to support production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledge of bearing-grade raw materials, heat treatment consumables, grinding consumables,machine spares, hydraulic and pneumatic components, electrical items, and industrial utilities will bean advantage.

Experience in procurement of CNC machine spares, centreless grinding machine components,maintenance spares, and industrial equipment is preferred.

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

(Preferred).

Candidates with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering along with significant relevant experience mayalso be considered.

Experience

315 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing industry.

Minimum 35 years in a managerial role.
