Role & responsibilities

• Inventory & Material Management: Manage site inventory of construction materials, tools, and heavy equipment. Oversee the timely receipt, quality inspection, secure storage, and issuance of materials.
• Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate stock registers, Goods Received Notes (GRNs), Material Requisition Notes (MRNs), and material issue slips.
• Stock Verification & Audits: Monitor stock levels and conduct regular physical verification and periodic reconciliations against system records.
• Consumption Reporting: Prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly material consumption and Management Information System (MIS) reports.
• Cross-Department Coordination: Coordinate closely with the purchase/procurement department, external vendors, and site engineers to anticipate and fulfill material needs.
• Storage Best Practices: Enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and LIFO inventory methods, proper material stacking, and safe handling procedures.
• Loss & Waste Prevention: Implement loss-prevention controls to actively prevent pilferage, material wastage, and damage while maintaining accountability.
• Staff Supervision: Supervise store assistants, helpers, and yard staff, delegating daily duties effectively.
