The role emphasizes maintaining safe storage, coordinating with procurement, monitoring usage, and returning surplus items to the yard, supporting timely project execution and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming construction deliveries and check them against delivery challans.
• Inspect goods for quality, damage, or short-supply before accepting.
• Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) and log entries in stock registers.
• Organize materials systematically by type, size, or project phase (such as steel, aggregates, and formwork).
• Maintain bin cards, ledger books, and digital ERP records for every stock item.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile differences with system logs
• Issue materials only against authorized Material Requisition Slips (MRNs) signed by site engineers.
• Monitor consumption rates and report abnormal usage or material wastage to project management.
• Track the return of tools, equipment, and unused surplus goods back to the central yard
• Coordinate with procurement teams and vendors for timely material replenishment.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and hazard-free housekeeping within the storage yard.
• Prevent unauthorized access and ensure secure handling of high-value or hazardous supplies
