Job summary

Venwind Refex Power Limited seeks an experienced procurement leader to drive end-to-end wind project procurement in Chennai. Build strategies aligned to schedules and budgets, and lead major packages from civil works to turbine erection, cranes, BoP, and transmission assets.

You will issue RFQs, evaluate technical and commercial bids, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, prequalify suppliers, drive cost optimisation and vendor consolidation, and collaborate with project and site teams to keep

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of experience in wind power procurement.
• Experience handling large-value procurement packages and contractor finalisation.
• Experience in tendering, technical and commercial evaluation, vendor development and negotiations.
• Strong understanding of wind project execution (civil works, turbine erection, cranes, BoP, substations).

Responsibilities

• Build procurement strategy and plans aligned to project schedules and budgets.
• Lead procurement of all major packages: civil and foundation works, turbine erection, cranes, electrical BoP, substation and transmission line, RoW and site development, and site requirements.
• Issue RFQs and tenders; run technical and commercial evaluations; prepare comparisons and negotiate pricing, milestones and delivery terms.
• Prequalify and develop contractors and vendors across civil, mechanical and electrical packages; build alternate sources for critical items.
• Drive cost optimisation, benchmarking, bulk procurement and vendor consolidation.
• Track commitments against project budgets and flag overruns early.
• Work with Project, Engineering, Civil, Electrical and Site teams; follow up on orders and deliveries.
• Set procurement processes and approval compliance; deliver regular MIS to senior management.

• Lead procurement of all major packages: civil and foundation works, turbine erection, cranes, electrical BoP, substation and transmission line, RoW and site development, and site requirements
• Issue RFQs and tenders, run technical and commercial evaluations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate pricing, payment milestones and delivery terms
• Prequalify and develop contractors and vendors across civil, mechanical and electrical packages; build alternate sources for critical items
• Drive cost optimisation, benchmarking, bulk procurement and vendor consolidation
• Track commitments against project budgets and flag overruns early
• Work closely with Project, Engineering, Civil, Electrical and Site teams; follow up on order acknowledgements, manufacturing progress and deliveries
• Set procurement processes and approval compliance; deliver regular MIS to senior management

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 15-20 years of overall experience, with substantial experience in procurement for wind power projects.
• Strong understanding of wind project execution, including civil works, turbine erection, cranes, electrical BoP, substations and transmission infrastructure.
• Should have independently handled large-value procurement packages and contractor finalisation for wind power projects.
• Experience in tendering, technical and commercial evaluation, vendor development and negotiations.
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment used in wind power projects.
• Experience in managing multiple procurement packages simultaneously across different project locations.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify cost optimisation opportunities.
• Experience working closely with project execution, engineering and site teams.
• Strong negotiation, communication, coordination and leadership skills.
