Job summary

Ultra Mega Power in Haryana seeks an experienced Procurement Lead to manage end-to-end sourcing of mechanical and electrical components for wind turbine manufacturing. You will lead vendor development, RFQs, negotiations, and strategic sourcing to ensure cost-effective procurement and uninterrupted production.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• MBA in Supply Chain / Operations advantageous.
• Experience in Purchase / Procurement / Strategic Sourcing in Wind Energy, Heavy Engineering or Capital Goods industries.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement of mechanical and electrical components for Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) manufacturing.
• Manage sourcing and procurement of critical components including Gearboxes, Generators, Main Shafts, Hubs, Bearings, Castings, Forgings, Flanges, Heavy Machined Components, and other WTG assemblies.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure cost-effective procurement and uninterrupted production.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop vendors for heavy engineering, precision machining, casting, forging, fabrication, and mechanical components.
• Conduct RFQs, technical and commercial evaluations, price negotiations, and finalization of purchase contracts.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and localization initiatives without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, SCM, and Finance teams for material planning and timely procurement.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, quality issues, and adherence to agreed commercial terms.
• Establish long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers and maintain a robust vendor base.
• Manage purchase orders, contracts, payment terms, and procurement documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Prepare procurement MIS, cost analysis, vendor performance reports, and periodic reviews for management.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred. MBA in Supply Chain / Operations will be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement / Strategic Sourcing within Wind Energy, Heavy Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing, or Capital Goods industries.
• Experience in procurement of WTG components such as Gearboxes, Generators, Shafts, Hubs, Bearings, Castings, Forgings, and Heavy Machined Components.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, manufacturing processes, and component costing.
• Proven experience in vendor development, supplier negotiations, cost control, and strategic sourcing.
• Exposure to CNC machining, precision machining, casting, forging, fabrication, and heavy engineering suppliers.
• Knowledge of SAP MM or any other ERP procurement module.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement activities and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
