Job Description: Head of Maintenance
Qualification & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 18to 22 years
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 22 to 28 years
Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage the complete Plant Engineering function including Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, Automation, Paint Shop, Facility Management, Energy Management, Statutory Compliance, and Capital Projects. Responsible for ensuring optimum equipment availability, reliability, safety, cost, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Mechanical Maintenance
- Lead maintenance activities for:
- Mechanical Heavy Duty Press Lines & SPMs
- Hydraulic Heavy Duty Presses & SPMs
- Pneumatic systems & SPMs
- Wheel forming, welding and finishing equipment
- Conveyors and material handling systems
- Air compressors, pumps, chiller, Cooling tower and utilities
- Design of Mechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems
- Developing part drawing through 2D & 3D models
Utilities & Infrastructure Management
Manage plant utilities including:
- Compressed Air System
- Water Distribution System
- Cooling Systems
- Fire Hydrant Network
- HVAC Systems
- Transformer Yard
- DG Systems
- Gas plant & fuel yard
- Boiler Maintenance
- Heat Transferring system maintenance
- DM water Processing & DWRS system maintenance
Ensure utility efficiency and minimum operational cost.
Paint Shop, ETP & STP
CED Paint Plant
- Ensure continuous operation of:
- Burner Maintenance
- Oven Maintenance
- Over Head Conveyor Maintenance
- Exhaust & sprinkler system Maintenance
- CO2 Flooding & Fire snipper Maintenance
- Pretreatment systems
- Knowledge on CED process equipment
- Oven Maintenance
- Pumps & Blower Maintenance
Environmental Systems
- ESG / EMS Management
- ETP operation and compliance
- STP operation and monitoring
- Waste management systems
Ensure compliance with all pollution control requirements.
COORDINATE Electrical Maintenance with ELECTRICAL TEAM
- Oversee:
- HT/LT electrical distribution systems
- Transformer yard
- PCC/MCC panels
- DG sets
- UPS systems
- Drives and motors
- Ensure electrical system reliability and safety.
- Manage energy monitoring and power quality.
COORDINATE Electrical Maintenance with ELECTRICAL TEAM Automation & Controls
- Responsible for:
- Siemens S7 200, S7 300& S7 1200 PLC systems
- Siemens 802 D,828D, Sinamics Servo Drives & Systems
- VFDs
- HMI & SCADA
- Industrial Networks
- Press Shop Automation
- Maintain robotic automation systems.
- Coordinate with OEMs for upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Lead digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Developing service providers & subcontract management for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Utilities
Robotics & Press Shop Automation
- Ensure high availability of robotic systems used for:
- Press feeding
- Material handling
- Stacking and transfer operations
- Lead robot programming support and optimization.
- Improve productivity through automation projects
INDEPENDENT :Safety, Legal & Statutory Compliance
Responsible for compliance related to:
- Factory Act
- Electrical Safety Regulations
- Pollution Control Board requirements
- Pressure Vessel Regulations
- Fire & Safety Systems
- Energy Regulations
Support legal and statutory audits.
LEAD MAINTENANCE Quality Systems & Audits

Drive closure of audit findings.
8. Project Management & Capex
- Execute new equipment installation and commissioning.
- Lead plant expansion projects.
- Manage Capex planning and budgeting.
- Vendor selection and technical evaluation.
- Ensure project completion within budget and schedule.
- Machine Shifting & Layout modifications as and when required
9. Cost, Energy & Sustainability
- Drive maintenance cost optimization.
- Improve energy efficiency.
- Reduce power consumption through:
- VFD optimization
- Energy monitoring systems
- Utility optimization initiatives
- Compressed Air Saving & Elimination
