Job summary

Tandhan Group is seeking a Head of Maintenance to lead the maintenance and technical operations of the polyplast manufacturing facility. You will ensure maximum equipment uptime, safety compliance, and operational efficiency across extrusion, lamination, and recycling processes.

This role requires 10+ years in plastics manufacturing maintenance, hands-on expertise in extrusion, lamination, and recycling, plus PLC/drive troubleshooting and TPM leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 10+ years in plastic manufacturing maintenance with hands-on extrusion, lamination and recycling.
• Skills: PLC/Drive troubleshooting, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, team leadership, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical, electrical, and automation maintenance for all core machinery (extrusion line, spiral cutter, lamination line, reprocessing unit).
• Implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and breakdown maintenance during operational failures.
• Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and consumables to optimize cost and availability.
• Plan machine overhauls, retrofits, and utility management (chillers, air compressors, boilers).
• Enforce safety standards, SOPs, and ensure output quality.
• Lead, train, and mentor maintenance staff; drive TPM initiatives to improve OEE.

Job Summary

The Head of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the entire maintenance and technical operations of the polyplast manufacturing facility. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and strict safety compliance across extrusion, spiral cutting, lamination, and reprocessing units.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Maintenance & Process Management

• Oversee mechanical, electrical, and automation maintenance for all core machinery:

Extrusion Line: Ensure smooth operation of extruders, die heads, temperature controllers, and drive systems.

Spiral Cutter: Maintain cutting precision, blade alignment, drive motors, and high-speed cutting assemblies.

Lamination Line: Manage heating rollers, tension control systems, corona treaters, and adhesive application units.

Reprocessing Unit: Maintain shredders, granulators, agglomerators, and pelletizing systems to ensure efficient plastic recycling.

• Implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) schedules to minimize un-planned downtime.
• Execute swift Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and breakdown maintenance during operational failures.

2. Asset & Resource Management

• Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and consumables to optimize cost and ensure continuous machine availability.
• Plan and execute machine overhauls, retrofits, and utility management (chillers, air compressors, power distribution, and boilers).

3. Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Enforce statutory safety standards, EHS policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all plant utility and process equipment.
• Ensure machine calibration and output quality align with company standards.

4. Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance technician and engineering staff.
• Drive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
