Job summary

Legrand seeks a Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliable operation of plant machinery, utilities, and infrastructure. You will drive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, aiming for maximum uptime and cost efficiency.

You will monitor OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and lead RCA to prevent recurring faults, while coordinating with cross-functional teams for planning and procurement. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering with electrical/instrumentation/electronics specialization.
• 5–10 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs and automation systems (FTM software).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, ERP and MS Office tools.
• Strong on safety practices and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum uptime of machines and utilities through preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance.
• Monitor KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR and machine availability targets.
• Lead root cause analysis to resolve equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and manage critical spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Stores and Engineering for maintenance planning and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and safety regulations.
• Prepare and control the maintenance budget and document data reporting.

Job Description

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the effective maintenance and reliability of plant machinery, utilities, and infrastructure through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum machine and utility uptime through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Monitor and improve key maintenance KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and VED machine availability targets.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) to quickly resolve equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan, monitor, and maintain critical spare parts inventory to ensure minimum production downtime.
• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Stores, and Engineering teams for maintenance planning, machine procurement, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, safety standards, statutory regulations, and best practices.
• Prepare and control the maintenance budget, monitor maintenance costs, and improve overall equipment reliability.
• Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team while ensuring timely documentation and data reporting.
• Oversee maintenance of production equipment such as CNC Bending Machines, Power Presses, TPP Machines, MIG Welding, Arc Welding, and Assembly Machines.
• Maintain and manage plant utilities including STP, ETP, RO Plant, DG Sets, Air Compressors, Fire Hydrant Systems, and Electrical Infrastructure.
• Ensure optimum utilization of energy, water, oil, and other resources by implementing cost-saving and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and eliminating machine-related hazards, maintaining machine guards and safety interlocks, conducting safety audits, and enforcing safe work practices to achieve zero accidents and zero harm to employees.
• Co-ordinate with purchase/stores for indention/revision of purchase order from different materials.

• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic drawings, etc.

Qualifications, Role Specific Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor degree in Engineering with electrical/instrumentation/electronics specialization
• Relevant work experience of 5 - 10 years in a similar setup
• Experience of working with FTM software and PLC.
• Complete operating and functional understanding of machines like injection moulding, laser making, pouch forming, inkjet printing, TTO printing, PAD printing, etc.
• Experience in handling of utilities like D.G. set, chillers, compressors, dryers, etc.
• Highly proficient in using MS-Office applications like excel, word and power-point, ERP and AutoCAD)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
