Job summary

BGR Energy Systems in Chennai seeks a senior BD leader to own and build the global D&ES revenue engine, running GTM strategy, pipeline creation and order conversion across upstream oil & gas, refining & petrochemicals, power, and water treatment—expanding toward data centers and LNG sectors.

You will shape the BD organization, manage key EPC and owner relationships, govern pricing and bids, and represent the company at industry events to accelerate growth.

Qualifications

• 20+ years in BD/sales leadership within engineering services, EPC, or industrial capital projects.
• Deep network across global EPCs, engineering firms and owner/developer organizations in priority sectors.
• B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical preferred); MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own D&ES order intake and pipeline targets across priority sectors and geographies.
• Build and lead the full D&ES BD organization: sector BD Heads, Head – Global Marketing, and their N-1s.
• Define and refresh GTM strategy by sector and geography to position capabilities against EPCs, GDCs, owners.
• Drive structured pipeline build and senior account management with priority owners.
• Own bid governance, pricing strategy, and win/loss discipline across sectors with support from stakeholders.
• Represent BGR at industry events (ADIPEC, India Energy Week) and manage senior relationships with owners/EPCs.
• Coordinate with COOs on readiness, capacity build, and capability gaps ahead of BD commitments.
• Build commercial governance: pipeline health reviews, funnel conversion discipline, BD performance tracking.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE

Own and build BGR's global D&ES revenue engine from GTM strategy and BD organization build to pipeline creation and order conversion — across Upstream Oil & Gas, Refining & Petrochemicals, Power (Conventional and Non-Conventional), and Water Treatment & Desalination initially, and eventually Data Centers and LNG sectors as well. Accountable for scaling D&ES from a standing start to an export-led engineering services business, building the right BD organization, establishing BGR's credentials with global EPCs, GDCs and owners, and converting a structured pipeline across discipline engineering, non-licensed process, and Owner's Engineering scopes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own D&ES order intake and pipeline targets across all priority sectors and geographies — full BD organization accountability
• Build and lead the full D&ES BD organization: sector BD Heads, the Head – Global Marketing (HQ), and their N-1s
• Define and refresh GTM strategy by sector and geography — positioning D&ES capabilities against global EPCs, GDCs, and owners
• Drive structured pipeline build and senior account management with priority owners)
• Own bid governance, pricing strategy, and win/loss discipline across sectors, in coordination with the Prequalification, Approvals and Proposals Manager and sector BD Heads
• Represent BGR at industry events (ADIPEC, India Energy Week) and personally own senior owner/EPC relationships on priority pursuits
• Coordinate with the other COOs on readiness, capacity build, and capability gaps ahead of BD commitments
• Build commercial governance: pipeline health reviews, funnel conversion discipline, and BD performance tracking across the organization

Preferred candidate profile

20+ years in BD/sales leadership within engineering services, EPC, or industrial capital projects, with a proven record building and scaling an export-led BD organization from an early stage. Deep network across global EPCs, engineering firms and owner/developer organizations in the priority sectors and regions. Strong exposure to O&G, power, or water sectors and engineering outsourcing models (non-licensed process engineering, discipline engineering, owner's engineering). Demonstrated P&L ownership and team-building ability in a founder/builder-style role. B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical preferred); MBA preferred.
