Job summary

Sunrise Biztech Systems Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Hardware Design Engineer to design a lightweight web-based tracking system for physical design teams. The role focuses on building ingestion, parsing, and a dashboard that runs on internal Linux (RHEL8) infrastructure.

You will implement a data model, a small local database, and a rules engine, with Python scripts to automate data pulls and updates. Prior exposure to embedded design data workflows is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong Python for backend scripting, file parsing, and data processing.
• Experience building or contributing to lightweight dashboards or data-tracking systems.
• Experience with Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS) and cron-based automation.
• Experience parsing/normalizing mixed unstructured/semi-structured data (logs, JSON, CSV).

Responsibilities

• Design a data model/schema for tracking checklist items and per-team execution status.
• Build a lightweight local database backend (SQLite) to persist definitions, history, and results.
• Implement file ingestion and parsing for text/log, JSON, CSV inputs to extract metrics.
• Develop a rules/evaluation engine to produce pass/fail outcomes per check.
• Create an HTML-based front-end dashboard atop the database (static HTML/JS or light server).
• Provide config-driven mechanism to add/edit/version check definitions without code changes.
• Write ingestion/automation scripts (Python) to pull data and update the database.
• Document architecture, data schema, and onboarding processes for new checks/teams.
• Deploy and validate the full stack on RHEL8 within existing infra constraints.

JD: OVERVIEW

We are seeking a contract software engineer to design and build a lightweight web-based tracking and reporting system for physical design teams. The platform will be multi-context providing direction on the required execution steps and success criteria, validation that each task was executed, and recommendations for cross-organizational data hand-offs. The infrastructure will ingest underlying report and log data and present status through a web-based dashboard. The system must run self-contained on internal Linux (RHEL8) infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design a data model/schema for tracking: checklist items (required execution steps), their success criteria, and per-team/per-project execution status (executed / not executed / passed / failed / stale).
• Build a lightweight local database backend (e.g., SQLite) to persist check definitions, run history, and results.
• Implement file ingestion and parsing for heterogeneous input formats (plain text/log files, JSON, CSV, and similar), extracting relevant status/metric data and mapping it to the defined success criteria.
• Build a rules/evaluation engine that compares parsed data against defined success criteria and produces a pass/fail/incomplete verdict per check.
• Develop an HTML-based front-end dashboard atop the underlying database (static HTML+JS, or lightweight local web server -- no external hosting)
• Provide a mechanism for adding/editing/versioning check definitions without code changes (e.g., a config file or admin UI).
• Write ingestion/automation scripts (Python preferred) that can be scheduled or triggered to pull new data files and update the database.
• Document the system architecture, data schema, and how to onboard a new check or a new team.
• Deploy and validate the full stack on RHEL8 Linux within existing infrastructure constraints (no external cloud dependencies, filesystem/network permissions as applicable).

DELIVERABLES

• Working end-to-end system (ingestion -> database -> dashboard) deployed on RHEL8
• Source code with through documentation and setup/run instructions
• Sample check definitions and at least one populated end-to-end example (real or representative data)

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong Python for backend scripting, file parsing, and data processing
• AI and LLM application for the code development
• Experience with a lightweight embedded database (SQLite or equivalent) -- schema design, querying, migrations
• Front-end development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (framework optional -- vanilla JS or a lightweight framework acceptable)
• Experience parsing/normalizing mixed unstructured/semi-structured data (text logs, JSON, CSV)
• Comfortable working on Linux (RHEL/CentOS), command-line tools, cron/scheduled jobs, file permissions-
• Git version control

PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Prior experience building internal engineering dashboards or QA/CI reporting tools
• Familiarity with EDA/semiconductor physical design flows or exposure to engineering data-checking workflows (helpful for understanding domain context, not required)
• Experience with a lightweight local web server framework (e.g., Flask) for serving the dashboard if a static-file approach isn't sufficient
• Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., Chart.js, DataTables) for dashboard tables/charts
• Familiarity with log parsing/regex-heavy extraction tools
• Experience packaging Python tools for deployment on locked-down/offline internal Linux environments
