The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in gold appraisal, a related degree or gemology certification, and strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing gold loans.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Gemology, or related field.
Gold appraisal or gemology certification is highly desirable.
Minimum of 3–5 years in gold appraisal within banking or financial services.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing gold loans and collateral management.
Proven accuracy and integrity in asset valuation and loan processing.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough appraisal of gold items as collateral for loan processing.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough and accurate appraisal of gold items submitted as collateral for loan processing, ensuring adherence to industry standards and bank policies.
Evaluate the purity, weight, and market value of gold assets using standardized testing methods and tools.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gold market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory guidelines affecting gold loan operations.
Collaborate with loan officers and operations teams to verify collateral details and support timely loan disbursement.
Prepare detailed appraisal reports and documentation to support loan approval and audit processes.
Ensure compliance with all internal controls, legal requirements and audit standards related to gold asset evaluation.
Identify and report any discrepancies or potential risks associated with gold collateral to senior management.
