Qualifications

• Certification in gold appraisal or gemology is highly desirable.
• 3–5 years of gold appraisal experience preferred in financial services or jewelry.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the bank's gold loan portfolio by providing precise appraisals that uphold the institution's standards of financial integrity and customer trust.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed physical inspection and verification of gold items submitted for loan processing, ensuring authenticity and quality standards.
• Accurately assess the purity, weight, and market value of gold assets using industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Stay updated with current gold market trends, prices, and regulatory guidelines to provide informed appraisals.
• Collaborate with loan officers and operations teams to facilitate smooth processing of gold-backed loans.
• Maintain comprehensive records of appraisals, including photographs, documentation, and valuation reports for audit and compliance purposes.
• Identify and report any discrepancies or suspicious items to the compliance and risk management teams promptly.
• Ensure adherence to all internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to gold appraisal and loan processing.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff on gold appraisal procedures and best practices.
