You will stay updated with market prices, collaborate with loan officers, and ensure audit-ready documentation while maintaining strict accuracy and risk controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field; gemology or precious metals appraisal certification desirable.
• 3–5 years of gold appraisal/valuation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough appraisal of gold jewelry and bullion to determine market value for loan sanctioning.
• Verify authenticity and purity of gold items using testing methods and equipment.
• Stay updated with gold market prices, trends, and regulatory guidelines for compliant valuation.
• Collaborate with loan officers and operations to facilitate gold-backed loan processing.
• Maintain detailed records of appraisals, including photographs and reports.
• Identify discrepancies or potential fraud related to gold assets during appraisal.
• Provide guidance to branch staff on gold appraisal standards and procedures.
