Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Gemology or related field.
• Certification in precious metal appraisal or gemology desirable.
• 3-5 years in gold appraisal/valuation in banking or jewelry.

Responsibilities

• Appraise gold jewelry and bullion for purity, weight and market value.
• Verify authenticity of gold items using specialized tools.
• Provide valuation reports to support gold loan disbursement.
• Maintain records with photographs, assay reports and certificates.
• Stay updated on gold market trends and regulatory changes.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
• Train junior appraisal staff and coordinate with security teams.
• Assist in periodic audits and risk mitigation related to collateral valuation.

• Collaborate with loan officers and operations teams to provide timely and precise valuation reports that support gold loan disbursement decisions.
