Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Gemology, Metallurgy, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of gold appraisal experience in financial services or jewelry sectors.
• Banking environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough appraisal of gold jewelry and ornaments submitted as collateral for loans.
• Evaluate purity, weight, and market value using standardized testing methods.
• Stay updated with current gold prices and trends for real-time valuation insights.
• Verify authenticity of gold items and detect counterfeits/adulterated materials.
• Maintain detailed appraisal records with photos, tests, and valuation reports.
• Collaborate with loan officers and operations to facilitate loan processing.
• Ensure regulatory compliance related to gold loan appraisal and documentation.
• Provide training to junior staff on appraisal techniques and quality standards.
