Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer in our expanding team. You will lead multidisciplinary geotechnical design and project management, liaising with international clients, and delivering robust solutions for infrastructure projects.

A strong academic background and PE/Chartered status are preferred, with willingness to travel for short-term assignments. The role requires 12–14 years of relevant experience, excellence in report writing, and a track record in

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification or equivalent
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, ports) and familiarity with geotechnical codes and international standards
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage teams and coordinate with stakeholders
• Excellent English communication, written and spoken, for interactions with international clients

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams on geotechnical design and analysis assignments
• Provide a strong academic and project management track record as a senior geotechnical engineer
• Attend client meetings and liaise with international clients
• Oversee design of retaining walls, slope stability, and pile group analysis
• Utilize geotechnical software and numerical analysis for complex problems
• Ensure high-quality reports and accurate deliverables

Overview

We currently have an outstanding opportunity for experienced Geotechnical Engineers in our rapidly expanding team in Bangalore GTC. An ideal opportunity for individuals looking to develop their international experience by working with a multidiscipline team of Geotechnical Engineers providing a comprehensive design service to our clients.

Your role

• The successful applicant will be a senior geotechnical engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
• A strong academic background with degree in Civil engineering and master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or Equivalent
• Ability to lead project teams.
• With minimum 12-14 years of relevant design experience.
• Proven experience of acting as a geotechnical engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running jobs successfully.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to check and produce accurate work.
• A flair for innovation and sustainability.
• A willingness to travel on short term assignments both within India and overseas
• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer, P.Eng. from US/ Canada Regions.
• Master's Degree PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or Equivalent with appropriate and sufficient experience in the field of geotechnical engineering in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.

Candidates will be asked to show how their experience demonstrates ability to:

• Strong work experience in UK, US, Canada and Middle East Regions Transportation and Infrastructure Projects.
• Analytical skills to assess complex problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Design of modular and embedded retaining walls, slope stability analysis & pile group analysis.
• Conversant with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS 2D/3D, GEOSTUDIO SUITE, WALLAP or FREW, PDISP and REPUTE..
• Experience of soil structure interaction work and numerical analysis would be an advantage.
• Experience of providing digital and sustainable solutions on the projects.

About you

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification, C.Eng or equivalent
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, ports, etc.).
• Familiarity with local geotechnical codes and international standards.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English within a business environment.
