Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Bengaluru seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead a team delivering infrastructure projects across roads, rail, water and commercial developments. You will review ground engineering input, coordinate design efforts and manage project teams to ensure high quality deliverables.

The role requires extensive experience, Chartered status, and strong communication skills to liaise with clients and international teams. Travel to UK and overseas is expected.

Qualifications

• 20+ years industrial experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Chartered status (C.Eng, P.Eng, P.E, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer in a fast-moving consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead as Principal Geotechnical Engineer on infrastructure projects (roads, rail, water, industrial).
• Act as technical reviewer for ground engineering input on challenging projects.
• Develop and lead geotechnical design teams and liaise with clients.

The successful applicant will be a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.

• inimum of 20+ years industrial experience in a similar organisation.
• A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc/Meng/MTech or equivalent).
• Chartered status (C.Eng, P.Eng,P.E, or equivalent).
• Proven experience of acting as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Highly experienced with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS (2D&3D) SLOPE/W, WALLAP, PDISP, VDISP & REPUTE.
• Proven Geotechnical design experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead Geotechnical design teams.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
• A willingness to travel on short assignments both to the UK and overseas.
