Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead design teams from concept to construction, focusing on wastewater projects and regulatory compliance.

You will provide technical input, guide asset surveys, feasibility studies, optioneering, and whole life costing, and mentor apprentices and graduates in the Water Engineering team. Occasional site visits to UK regions may be required.

Qualifications

• Senior civil engineer with extensive wastewater experience in the water industry.
• Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Understanding of regulatory environment and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of wastewater infrastructure components such as rising mains and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Provide the technical input into projects.
• Provide civil input into asset surveys, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole life costing and preliminary designs.
• Provide technical sign-off and assurance during delivery including handover.
• Ensure compliance with engineering-based regulatory requirements in their area.
• Support the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for engineering.

Your role

Background:

Focusing on the Civil Engineering discipline, the role provides the expertise needed to:

• Act as Lead Design Engineer, leading teams in solution development from concept through to construction.
• Get the right technical requirements to meet the project Needs.
• Provide technical guidance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of assets.

• Provide civil input into asset surveys and plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole life costing, and preliminary designs.
• Provide the technical sign-off and assurance during technical delivery including handover.
• Ensure we are compliant with engineering-based regulatory requirements in their area.
• Support the establishment of a 'Centre of Excellence for engineering.

About you

Be a recognised senior engineer in civil engineering with extensive wastewater experience in the water industry.

Have highly developed communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and other internal stakeholders.

Understanding the regulatory environment required to achieve compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.

Be knowledgeable in one or more of the following, wastewater infrastructure; including rising mains, wastewater network hydraulics, infiltration management and construction.

Deliver continuous professional development and take an active approach to developing and mentoring apprentices, graduates and civil engineers in the Water Engineering team.

Ideally we are looking to be co-located with our team in GTC India but there will also be a requirement to visit sites in UK region's.
