Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to drive technical excellence on infrastructure projects in Bangalore. You will lead a mature team, review ground engineering input, and deliver robust geotechnical designs for roads, rail, water, and commercial developments.

You have 20+ years of experience, hold MSc/MEng/MTech or equivalent, and Chartered status. Travel to the UK and overseas may be required, with a strong focus on client liaison and project management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20+ years industrial experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Strong academic background with MSc/MEng/MTech or equivalent.
• Chartered status (C.Eng, P.Eng, P.E or equivalent).
• Proven track record as Principal Geotechnical Engineer in a fast-moving consultancy.
• Excellent report writing, interpersonal and client liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• The successful applicant will be a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
• inimum of 20+ years industrial experience in a similar organisation.
• A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc/Meng/MTech or equivalent).
• Chartered status (C.Eng, P.Eng,P.E, or equivalent).
• Proven experience of acting as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Highly experienced with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS (2D&3D) SLOPE/W, WALLAP, PDISP, VDISP & REPUTE.
• Proven Geotechnical design experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead Geotechnical design teams.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
• A willingness to travel on short assignments both to the UK and overseas.
