Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Manager to lead a skilled geotechnical team on major infrastructure projects. You will direct design work, coordinate with international clients, and ensure rigorous reporting and high-quality deliverables across fast-paced environments.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience, advanced degrees, and a track record in modular retaining walls, slope stability, and numerical analysis, with PLAXIS and related tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) from US/Canada regions.
• Masters or PhD in geotechnical engineering with relevant experience.
• Strong work experience in US/Canada transportation and infrastructure projects.
• UK Rail projects experience as leading work packages.
• Analytical skills to assess complex problems and deliver solutions.
• Design of modular/embedded retaining walls, slope stability, pile group analysis.
• Experience with geotechnical software PLAXIS (2D/3D), SLOPE/W, WALLAP, VDISP, REPUTE.
• Experience in soil-structure interaction and digital, sustainable project delivery.
• Willingness to travel overseas; excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

As such we are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Manager to take a leading role in our strong geotechnical team.

Your role

• The successful applicant will be a senior geotechnical engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
• A strong academic background with degree in Civil engineering and Master Degree or PhD in a relevant subject.
• Ability to lead small project teams.
• With minimum 15 years of relevant design experience.
• Proven experience of acting as a geotechnical engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running jobs successfully.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
• A flair for innovation and sustainability.
• A willingness to travel on short term assignments both within India and overseas.

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer, P.Eng. from US/ Canada Regions.
• Masters Degree or PhD in a relevant subject with appropriate and sufficient experience in the field of geotechnical engineering either with civil consultancy or as a designer for a ground engineering contractor
• Candidates will be asked to show how their experience demonstrates ability to:
• Strong work experience in US and or Canada Regions Transportation and Infrastructure Projects.
• Also got UK Rail Projects experience as leading the work packages.
• Analytical skills to assess complex problems and deliver appropriate solutions
• Design of modular and embedded retaining walls, slope stability analysis & pile group analysis.
• Conversant with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS (2D&3D) SLOPE/W, WALLAP, VDISP & REPUTE.
• Experience of soil structure interaction work and numerical analysis would be an advantage.
• Experience of providing digital and sustainable solutions on the projects.
• Desirable Requirements

• Willingness to travel to overseas.Excellent written and spoken English within a business environment.
• Good interpersonal and Communication Skills.
