Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Manager to lead our geotechnical team on major infrastructure projects. You will guide project scope, ensure high-quality analyses, and communicate with international clients.

A strong academic background and 15+ years of design experience are preferred. You will work with PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, WALLAP, VDISP and REPUTE, coordinating reports, managing teams, and traveling for short assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with professional licensure in applicable region.
• Experience leading geotechnical design for infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to deliver complex analyses and reports.
• Experience with US/Canada or UK rail/infrastructure projects is a plus.

As such we are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Manager to take a leading role in our strong geotechnical team.

Your role

• The successful applicant will be a senior geotechnical engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
• A strong academic background with degree in Civil engineering and Master Degree or PhD in a relevant subject.
• Ability to lead small project teams.
• With minimum 15 years of relevant design experience.
• Proven experience of acting as a geotechnical engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running jobs successfully.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
• A flair for innovation and sustainability.
• A willingness to travel on short term assignments both within India and overseas.

About you

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer, P.Eng. from US/ Canada Regions.
• Masters Degree or PhD in a relevant subject with appropriate and sufficient experience in the field of geotechnical engineering either with civil consultancy or as a designer for a ground engineering contractor
• Candidates will be asked to show how their experience demonstrates ability to:
• Strong work experience in US and or Canada Regions Transportation and Infrastructure Projects.
• Also got UK Rail Projects experience as leading the work packages.
• Analytical skills to assess complex problems and deliver appropriate solutions
• Design of modular and embedded retaining walls, slope stability analysis & pile group analysis.
• Conversant with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS (2D&3D) SLOPE/W, WALLAP, VDISP & REPUTE.
• Experience of soil structure interaction work and numerical analysis would be an advantage.
• Experience of providing digital and sustainable solutions on the projects.
• Desirable Requirements

• Willingness to travel to overseas.
• Excellent written and spoken English within a business environment.
• Good interpersonal and Communication Skills.
