Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a senior procurement lead to own end-to-end procurement of electrical equipment for power projects. You will develop strategies, coordinate with engineers and suppliers, negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery.

Must manage large budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives in a fast-growing renewable energy environment. The role requires deep experience in electrical equipment procurement, strong leadership, and familiarity with SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with supply chain exposure.
• MBA in Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
• 12–16 years of procurement and SCM in electrical/power.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for electrical equipment and services for power projects.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project goals.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and suppliers for timely procurement.
• Negotiate, draft and manage supplier contracts; ensure compliance.
• Oversee supply chain from order to delivery and installation.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Implement inventory, logistics and warehousing strategies as needed.
• Track orders and resolve fulfillment or shipment issues.
• Act as Commodity Lead for conductors and critical components.
• Explore HTLS/ACSS tech to optimize transmission line usage.
• Manage a significant procurement budget with risk mitigation and market analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance and project teams to align goals.

The Successful Applicant

• B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. MBA in Supply Chain Management will be an advantage
• 12-16 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management within the electrical or power sector, with a proven track record in managing large-scale procurement projects
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment and components used in power projects, namely Transmission Lines, Switchyards, Transformers, Substations, HT/LT Switchgear, CT, PT, Isolators, HT/LT Motors, VFD, UPS, and Cables
• Proficiency in contract negotiation, procurement strategies, and supply chain management
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to secure favorable terms with vendors while maintaining positive working relationships.
• Familiarity with procurement software and tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in international procurement and working on projects abroad is an advantage
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• High level of integrity and professionalism
