Job summary

Michael Page is partnered with a PE funded IPP in renewable energy, seeking a seasoned procurement/SCM specialist for wind projects. You will lead end-to-end procurement, including WTG, turbine components, logistics, and O&M spare parts, while negotiating terms and supporting contract closures.

Ideal candidates have 7–12 years of wind procurement experience, strong SAP PO skills, and proficiency in MS Excel/PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• B.Tech/engineering degree in mechanical or electrical is required.
• MBA/PGDM in supply chain, operations or project management adds value.
• 7–12 years’ experience in procurement/SCM/contracts, wind energy preferred.
• Hands-on with WTG OEM coordination, BoP/EPC, and O&M procurement.
• Familiarity with wind project components: WTG, tower, foundation, erection, electrical works, SCADA/PPC, logistics, and O&M spares.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement for wind project packages including WTG, tower, civil, electrical, crane, erection, logistics, and SCADA/PPC.
• Handle O&M procurement: spares, consumables, tools, safety items, electrical/mechanical components.
• Support contract and PO creation; coordinate with legal for LD, warranty, payment milestones.
• Float RFQs, clarify technical/commercials, prepare statements and term sheets for management decision.
• Maintain MIS reports, vendor databases, cost benchmarks, and track delivery risks.

About Our Client

Job Description

1) Project Procurement

• Support procurement of wind project packages including WTG, tower, civil works, electrical works, crane, erection, logistics, and SCADA/PPC.
• Manage procurement of cranes and intercarting/logistics, manpower agencies for WTG erection, and civil foundation works - including vendor identification, mobilisation planning, techno-commercial evaluation, and rate finalisation.

2) O&M Procurement

• Handle procurement of critical spares, consumables, tools, safety items, electrical and mechanical components, lubricants, filters, sensors, panels, cables, and other site requirements.
• Support procurement of O&M services including manpower, crane services, AMC contracts, repair and refurbishment works, statutory testing, and site maintenance contracts.

3) Vendor Management & Commercial Negotiation

• Float RFQs, coordinate technical and commercial clarifications, and prepare comparative statements , Term Sheets , DOR and recommendation notes for management approval.
• Support negotiations for cost optimisation, better payment terms, delivery commitments, and warranty support.

4) Contract & PO Support

• Assist in preparation and review of Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Supply Contracts, Service Contracts, and AMC Agreements.
• Coordinate with legal and contracts teams for closure of key commercial terms including LD, warranty, bank guarantees, payment milestones, and delivery terms.

5) MIS & Compliance

• Maintain procurement trackers, vendor databases, cost benchmarks, and O&M item rate databases.
• Prepare MIS reports on procurement status, cost savings, delivery risks, and critical spares availability.

The Successful Applicant

• B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
• 7 to 12 years in procurement / SCM / contracts, preferably in wind energy
• Hands‑on experience in WTG OEM coordination, BoP/EPC packages, O&M procurement etc.
• Familiarity with wind project components - WTG, tower, foundation, erection, electrical works, SCADA/PPC, logistics, and O&M spares.
• Strong coordination and follow-up skills across internal teams, OEMs, vendors, and site teams.
• Proficient in SAP PO Creation, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Comfortable managing multiple packages and deadlines simultaneously.
