Job summary

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Experience applying design standards for mechanical systems and EPC projects.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills to guide a design team.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership to the Design Department.
• Ensure design activities comply with the Design and Development of Products and Services procedures.
• Establish design standards for bulk material handling, pneumatic conveying, ash handling, and EPC systems.
• Guide the Design team in understanding contract requirements and resolving deviations early.
• Coordinate with Project Department to initiate design actions.
• Review and approve provisional design layouts and sketches before discussions with customers.
• Participate in critical technical reviews with Technical Head and senior management.
• Ensure corrections after customer review are incorporated.
• Review site feedback and observations related to design performance.
• Approve design modifications arising during site validation.
• Maintain revision history and document traceability.
• Provide technical oversight when complete equipment orders are received as spares.
• Ensure timely issue of equipment drawings to Customer Support Services.
• Support resolution of technical queries related to spares and replacements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership to the Design Department in line with Design Department Procedure.
• Ensure design activities comply with – Design and Development of Products and Services as per the procedures
• Establish design standards, guidelines, and best practices for bulk material handling, pneumatic conveying, ash handling, and EPC systems.
• Guide the Design team in understanding awarded contract requirements and identifying technical clarifications or deviations at an early stage.
• Ensure timely initiation of design actions through coordination with Project Department.
• Review and approve provisional design layouts and sketches before internal and customer discussions.
• Participate in critical technical reviews with Technical Head and senior management.
• Ensure all corrections and amendments post customer review are fully incorporated following the compliance.
• Review site feedback and customer observations related to design performance.
• Approve necessary design modifications arising during site validation.
• Maintain strict control over revision history and document traceability.
• Provide technical oversight when complete equipment orders are received as spares.
