Job summary

Key-Tech Engineering is seeking a capable drafting and engineering planner to translate client requirements into practical designs. The role covers concept building, drafting, BOM preparation, and design verification.

You will work with technical experts, prepare drawings, estimates, and reports, and visit plants to ensure production aligns with the design. Experience in GA drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing drawings would help.

Job description

Job and Responsibilities:

Concept Building

• Understand Client requirements from the enquiry
• Brainstorm with technical experts in the company to arrive at the design
• Make estimation for material, lead time and design
• Prepare drawing/drafting instructions

Drafting

• Draft GA drawing for customer approval (schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines) for clients
• Draft manufacturing drawings

Engineering Plan

• Create Item Codes
• Prepare BOM for the drawings
• Ensure that quantity and quality of each design component is accurately estimated to prepare Bill of Material (BOM) for procurement planning
• Share purchase requisition with Purchase team for long lead items
• Verify designs via engineering calculations viz CFD, Conval, FEM as per requirements
• Confirm equipment suitability for given design conditions and material of construction as per suitable engineering Codes

Design Implementation

• Visit plant to ensure production is as per design
• Ensure that designs are modified and revised to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
• Coordinate with and consult with production to resolve design or other problems
• Highlight gaps
• Prepare reports
