Job summary

Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited is seeking a Design Engineer to lead all design activities for ongoing and upcoming projects. You will manage time, cost and scope, track engineering deliverables, and ensure designs meet company standards and objectives.

Reporting to the GM-Mechanical Design and Engineering, you will coordinate with project consultants and the engineering team, prepare MTO/BOQ, equipment drawings, and support field teams with design changes as needed.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mech).
• Working knowledge of project design requirements and standards.
• Ability to prepare and study design documents using AutoCAD.
• Meticulous documentation and cross-functional communication.
• Willing to travel within India and abroad.

Responsibilities

• Design of plant mechanical equipment and piping requirements with project team.
• Finalize project specifications for mechanical equipment and piping.
• Monitor and track engineering deliverables for the project.
• Coordinate with users to determine needs and fulfill them.
• Prepare and review MTO/BOQ and equipment drawings.
• Support field teams on on-site engineering issues and design changes.

Job description

1. JOB PURPOSE:-

Responsible for all Design related activities for ongoing and upcoming projects. Manage time, cost and scope without any deviation. Track monitor and control project related deliverables, for meeting company’s strategic & operational objectives.

2. ORGANISATIONAL CHART:-

Will report to GM- Mechanical Design and Engineering

3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES and DUTIES:-

• Work with Project consultant & Engineering team, for designing of Plant mechanical equipment and Piping requirements.
• Finalizing Project specification for Mechanical Equipment & Piping as per latest design standards.
• Monitoring & Tracking of Engineering Deliverables for the project
• Understanding and following Project design best practices
• Project design & consultancy on the basis of Basic Engineering Package.
• Monitoring the status of the project engineering (designing) and communicate the relevant information to stakeholders.
• Preparation & Review of MTO (Material Take of) List & BOQ (Bill of Quantity) for the project, to facilitate Procurement activities
• Preparation & Review of Equipment Manufacturing Drawings, GA Drawings
• Responsible for assigned project from the initial development. This will require meetings with users to fully determine their needs & fulfilling the same.
• Conducts project review meetings & identify the issues that come up and plan countermeasures.
• Supporting selection of Design consultant
• Supporting construction team for On-field engineering issues & managing DCN (Design Change Notes) for the project
• Preparation & Review of As-Built drawings for the Project.

Relevant and total years of Experience:-

• ? Minimum 2 to 6 years of total experience in the field of Chemical / Petrochemical / Refinery Project designing, vendor development for Project consultancy/ design.
• ? Should have experience of project activities from grassroots level.
