Job summary

Bhartiya Design Party is seeking a hands-on Factory Operations lead to manage daily production at their Faridabad facility. You will oversee carpentry, joinery, and cabinet making, translating drawings into actionable production steps and coordinating with design and project teams.

The role demands 4–8+ years in bespoke furniture production, strong supervision skills, and the ability to keep schedules, quality, and material usage in check on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of experience in furniture production, joinery or factory operations.
• Strong practical understanding of bespoke furniture manufacturing and carpentry.
• Experience with both loose and fixed furniture is highly preferred.
• Able to read furniture drawings, dimensions, sections and material specs.
• Knowledge of plywood, timber, veneers, laminates, hardware and finishes.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day furniture production and factory operations at BDPs manufacturing facility in Karkhana Bagh, Faridabad.
• Plan production schedules based on project priorities, drawings, delivery dates and available manpower.
• Supervise manufacturing of bespoke loose furniture, fixed furniture, cabinetry, millwork, panelling and architectural joinery.
• Translate approved design and shop drawings into clear production instructions for carpenters, polish teams, upholstery teams, metal workers and other vendors.
• Coordinate closely with BDP’s designers, architects, project managers and site teams.
• Review drawings before production and flag technical or fabrication issues before work begins.
• Manage allocation and productivity of carpenters, craftsmen, helpers and specialist teams.
• Monitor projects through each production stage — cutting, carcass, joinery, assembly, finishing, upholstery, hardware installation, QC, packing and dispatch.
• Maintain strong quality control, particularly for joinery, dimensions, alignment, hardware, finishes and detailing.
• Ensure furniture is manufactured according to approved drawings, materials, samples and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain production trackers showing planned vs actual progress for every project/item.
• Coordinate procurement requirements for plywood, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware, timber, upholstery, finishes and consumables.
• Monitor material consumption, wastage and stock availability.
• Coordinate factory measurements and technical clarifications with project/site teams.
• Conduct final QC before furniture leaves the factory.
• Plan packing, loading, dispatch and installation coordination with project teams.
• Track rework, damages, snagging and rectification until closure.
• Maintain factory discipline, housekeeping, machinery upkeep and basic workplace safety.
• Proactively identify production bottlenecks and take ownership of resolving them.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 4–8+ years of experience in furniture production, joinery, millwork or factory operations preferred.
• Strong practical understanding of bespoke furniture manufacturing and carpentry.
• Experience with both loose and fixed furniture is highly preferred.
• Should understand furniture drawings, dimensions, sections, joinery details and material specifications.
• Good knowledge of plywood, MDF/HDF, timber, veneer, laminate, hardware, polish, paint, upholstery and other furniture finishes.
• Familiarity with premium furniture hardware and fittings is an advantage.
• Should understand the difference between design intent and what is practically manufacturable.
• Strong ability to manage craftsmen, labour, vendors and multiple production jobs simultaneously.
• Comfortable maintaining production schedules, material requirements and QC checklists.
• Should be organised, hands-on and proactive rather than dependent on constant instructions.
• Experience in a bespoke furniture workshop, interior fit-out company, joinery factory or premium furniture manufacturer would be particularly relevant.
• Basic AutoCAD/drawing-reading ability is an advantage.
