The Operations Manager is responsible for executing and optimizing the operational workflow of ISTO Furniture, including production, procurement coordination, project execution, quality control, warehouse management, installation coordination, logistics, vendor coordination, and process improvement.
The role requires a commercially aware and execution-focused hands‑on leader who can manage manufacturing and turnkey furniture operations efficiently while ensuring quality standards, cost control, on‑time delivery, and operational scalability.
The Operations Manager acts as the central coordination point between Production, Procurement, Design, Sales, Accounts, Vendors, and Site Execution teams.
Key Objectives of the Role
- Ensure smooth end‑to‑end operational execution of furniture and interior projects
- Improve production efficiency and delivery timelines
- Reduce operational losses, wastage, delays, and rework
- Maintain quality and process compliance
- Build scalable SOP‑driven operational systems
- Maintain operational reporting and KPI tracking
- Support company profitability through operational excellence
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and Operations
- Add Bill of Materials (BOM) provided by design department
- Schedule Manufacturing Orders ensuring production schedules are aligned with project timelines
- Monitor production output, bottlenecks, and machine utilization
- Coordinate with Production Manager and supervisors to ensure workflow efficiency
- Ensure optimal utilization of labor, machinery, and raw materials
- Reduce rework, wastage, and downtime
- Monitor capacity planning and production forecasting
- Improve factory productivity and operational discipline
2. Project Execution Coordination
- Coordinate execution of furniture and interior projects from order confirmation to final delivery
- Ensure timelines are tracked and achieved
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, and Site teams
- Conduct project review meetings and status tracking
- Ensure readiness of materials and production before dispatch
- Monitor installation progress and site execution quality
- Ensure customer commitments are fulfilled operationally
- Coordinate with procurement for material planning and stock availability
- Ensure timely availability of boards, laminates, hardware, upholstery, fittings, and accessories
- Lead vendor development and performance monitoring
- Track lead times and vendor delivery performance
- Support negotiation initiatives for operational efficiency
4. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Monitor inventory movement, stock availability and accuracy
- Ensure proper storage systems and warehouse organization
- Reduce dead stock and material losses
- Ensure FIFO implementation where applicable
- Coordinate stock audits and reconciliation
- Monitor inward and outward material movement
- Improve warehouse efficiency and dispatch accuracy
5. Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout manufacturing and installation
- Coordinate quality inspections during production and dispatch
- Analyze recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Monitor customer complaints and implement resolution systems
- Maintain operational documentation and records
6. Logistics & Dispatch Coordination
- Plan and coordinate dispatch schedules
- Ensure timely delivery to project sites and customers
- Coordinate transportation vendors and logistics partners
- Optimize dispatch planning and transportation costs
- Ensure proper packaging and loading procedures
- Supervise operational staff, supervisors, and coordinators
- Establish accountability systems and performance monitoring
- Conduct manpower planning and workforce allocation
- Train teams on SOPs, quality standards, and operational processes
- Promote operational discipline and workplace safety
- Build a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
8. Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Implement and improve operational SOPs
- Ensure operational data accuracy in ERP systems such as Odoo
- Generate MIS reports and KPI dashboards

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- MBA in Operations or Supply Chain Management (preferred)
- Fluent in English and Hindi
