Job Summary

The Production Design Engineer will be responsible for translating interior design concepts into accurate technical drawings and ensuring smooth coordination between design, production, and site execution. The role requires strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials, manufacturing processes, and production planning.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, working drawings, and production drawings.
• Convert 2D/3D design concepts into manufacturable drawings.
• Coordinate with designers to resolve technical and execution-related issues.
• Prepare BOQs, material specifications, and cutting lists.
• Ensure drawings comply with project requirements and industry standards.

Production & Manufacturing

• Plan and monitor production schedules as per project timelines.
• Coordinate with factory teams (carpentry, metal, modular, finishing).
• Ensure optimal material utilization and minimize wastage.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation.

Site Coordination

• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors for smooth execution.
• Resolve on-site technical issues and design deviations.
• Support installation teams with drawings and clarifications.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for materials and hardware.
• Approve samples, finishes, and mockups as per design intent.
• Ensure timely availability of materials for production.

Software & Technical Skills

• AutoCAD (Mandatory)
• SolidWorks / SketchUp (Preferred)
• MS Excel & MS Office
• Basic knowledge of CNC, modular systems, and furniture manufacturing
• Strong understanding of interior fit-out and furniture production.
• Knowledge of materials: plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, metal, glass.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under tight timelines.
